Vimmi Indra

Vimmi Indra completed Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) from the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Jabalpur.

Her journey of growing up in the different towns and cities of Bihar, and later moving to the big cities is reflected in her lucid dream-like artwork. Her paintings are a fantasy world where figures float against an ever-changing environment of our cities, buildings, and nature. Her canvases pulsate with an inner rhythm and energy, glowing like jewels with colors and expressive figures. The vibrant palette and use of the soft brush technique speak of mature handling of the medium. While her earlier paintings were a union of imagination and reality in her ‘Citiscapes’ series, her new works appear like a lucid dream with simple expressive figures. The viewer is transported into a parallel universe as he/she sees visions of a lost world taking a pictorial form.
